Yemen Gas Company distributes quantities of gas through direct sales to citizens

The Yemeni Gas Company distributed on Wednesday quantities of domestic gas that was seized on the black market to citizens in poor neighborhoods at a price of 5,500 riyals.

During the distribution, the Deputy Executive Director of the company, Eng. Sharif Abboud Ali Mahdi, indicated that the distribution of domestic gas to citizens will take place through several programs that include direct sales to citizens, distribution through local chiefs and agents, as well as sales through car stations, which have been obligated to operate 24 hours a day to meet citizens’ needs for gas.

He pointed out that the company’s domestic gas is delivered through the company’s stations or stations allocated by the administration in Safer at a price of 4900 riyals, as it is distributed in the districts of Old Sana’a, Al-Safia, Al-Tahrir, and areas in the Bani Al-Harith district and some governorates.

He explained that the imported domestic gas has a high cost due to the rise in the global stock market, as the price is linked to the global stock exchange, and this gas is allocated for sale through car stations and major consumers.

The Deputy Executive Director of the company confirmed that within the framework of the ration programs and plans implemented by the company to cover the needs of citizens of gas, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, it required more efforts and the introduction of large quantities of imported gas.

He pointed out that the gas ship Eco Frost, loaded with 6,602 metric tons of gas, arrived at the port of Hodeidah, and two gas ships arrived, one loaded with 11,195 metric tons and the other with 5,648 metric tons.

He stressed that with the arrival of the gas ships, the gas supply situation will be stable, and that these quantities will enable the company to obtain a reserve of stored gas to meet the needs of citizens in the governorates. He called on the media to be accurate and credible in reporting what it publishes about the company.

Sharif Abboud also called on citizens not to be drawn into rumors about a domestic gas crisis.
