Yarmouk University, U.S. UM-D discuss scientific cooperation

Irbid: President of Yarmouk University (YU), Dr. Islam Massad and Dean at the College of Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan-Dearborn ((UM-D), Dr. Ghassan T. Kridli, on Thursday discussed ways of joint scientific and academic cooperation.

According to its strategic executive plan, Massad said Yarmouk University is “keen” to send its “outstanding” students to complete their graduate studies at the master’s and doctoral levels to “prestigious” universities worldwide to carry out their developmental role in serving the Jordanian higher education.

Massad also stressed YU’s keenness to strengthen its academic and research cooperation with UM-D, which reflects “positively” on the progress of the YU’s educational process and provides opportunities for its students to complete their graduate studies in engineering , information technology and computer sciences.

For his part, Kridli stressed the UM-D’s readiness to cooperate with the Jordanian university in areas of common interest, especially
since YU hosts “creative, qualified” youth energies that can achieve “excellence” in the academic programs.

During the meeting, talks also went over aspects of joint future cooperation, under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at providing scholarships for YU’s students to complete their studies at the doctoral level in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and the Internet of Things.
