WHO: 28 children in Gaza die from malnutrition

Amman: The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that more than 8,000 children under the age of five in the Gaza Strip have been treated for acute malnutrition, including 1,600 suffering from severe acute malnutrition, while 28 of them died.

During a press conference in Geneva on Wednesday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained that a large proportion of the population of the Gaza Strip, devastated by the Israeli war, is facing a catastrophic level of food shortages and near-famine conditions, noting that despite information that food deliveries have increased, there is no evidence at present that those most in need are receiving food in sufficient quantity and quality.
