WGS’s themes are future-oriented: FNC official

DUBAI: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), affirmed that the quality and diversity of participants in the World Governments Summit (WGS) reflect the UAE’s ability to bring the world together under one roof at a time when it is experiencing conflicts, crises, fragmentation and multiple polarisation.

He noted that the summit will host about 4,000 participants, including government officials, private sector representatives, and intellectual and technological leaders, which he described as a ”real challenge”.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the WGS, Dr. Al Nuaimi said that the summit’s themes are of national priority for every country and have a future dimension, stressing that the UAE wise leadership is keen to build partnerships with all, especially on issues that affect humanity as a whole.

He highlighted the UAE’s extensive experience in organising global government summits an
d its ability to transform what is discussed at these summits into programmes, projects and partnerships, which is something that participants recognise, as they see these summits as an added value that opens up future prospects for them.

He pointed out that the issues being discussed, such as health, education, industry, infrastructure and others, affect people and have a direct impact on their lives. He also noted that the UAE’s efforts to create a culture of government work are directly linked to serving citizens and involving them in decision-making and contributions.
