US aircraft carrier arrives in South Korea days after Putin’s visit to the North Korea


Baghdad: The South Korean Navy announced that the US aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt arrived today, Saturday, at the military port in the southeastern city of Busan, “in order to show force against the growing threats from North Korea resulting from deepening military cooperation with Russia.”

The Korean News Agency / Yonhap / reported: “The US aircraft carrier, accompanied by the destroyers Halsey and Daniel Inouye, will participate in the naval maneuvers scheduled for the end of June with the participation of the United States, Japan and South Korea.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited North Korea on June 18 and 19.

Following the talks, Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, stipulating joint defense between the two countries.
