UAE Ushers in 2025 with Record-Breaking Fireworks and Festivities

ABU DHABI: Millions around the world are anticipated to focus on the UAE as it rings in the New Year 2025 with a series of spectacular fireworks displays and celebrations across its emirates. The events are expected to draw large crowds, including international tourists and local residents, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to bolstering its entertainment sector.

According to Emirates News Agency, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba has planned an ambitious 53-minute continuous fireworks display, targeting record-breaking feats in terms of length, variety, and scale. This impressive display will be preceded by a 20-minute drone show, featuring 6,000 drones creating intricate formations in the sky, including a world-first image by 3,000 drones.

In addition to the main event in Al Wathba, other areas in Abu Dhabi, such as the Corniche, Yas Island, and Al Hudayriyat Island, will host their own fireworks displays, further enhancing the celebratory atmosphere across the emirate.

Dubai, known for its lavish celebrations, is preparing to host over 45 fireworks shows at 36 notable locations, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, and Expo City. These events are designed to cater to a diverse audience, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees. Dubai authorities have implemented comprehensive safety measures to ensure the festivities proceed smoothly.

Sharjah will feature 25-minute fireworks displays at three key locations: Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Heera Beach, and Khorfakkan Beach. Each site promises a unique experience with activities suitable for all ages, organized under the auspices of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).

Ras Al Khaimah aims to captivate audiences with its “Our Story in the Sky” display, a 15-minute fireworks and drone show that aspires to set new Guinness World Records. The performance will be divided into segments that celebrate the emirate’s natural beauty, heritage, and culture, culminating in a grand display at midnight. Last year’s Ras Al Khaimah celebrations earned two Guinness World Records, setting high expectations for this year’s event.
