UAE President Appoints Mohammed Alqasim as Undersecretary of Ministry of Education


ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a Federal Decree appointing Mohammed Hamza Alqasim as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education. The appointment is expected to bring significant leadership experience to the ministry, given Alqasim’s extensive background in both governmental and private sectors.



According to Emirates News Agency, Alqasim previously held the position of Director-General at the Emirates Schools Establishment. His career includes significant roles such as Director of Technology Adoption and Development at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and Director of Council Affairs Department at the Advanced Science Office. He has also held roles with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Total, indicating a diverse experience in both educational and technological fields.



Alqasim’s academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Machinery Engineering and Geoscience from the French Institute of Petroleum and a Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada. His educational background and professional experience are expected to contribute to his new role in shaping the future of education in the United Arab Emirates.
