DUBAI: The UAE Muay Thai Open Championship concluded on a high note after three days of intense competition at Dubai’s Festival Arena. Organised by the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, this year’s event drew 235 athletes from 44 clubs, both local and international, solidifying the Federation’s mission to advance Muay Thai as a sport.
On the championship’s final day, the audience was treated to 38 thrilling bouts, with enthusiastic supporters contributing to a vibrant atmosphere. The event offered invaluable experience and skill development for participants from countries such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Libya, Iraq, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, and China, alongside the UAE.
Dignitaries in attendance included Abdulrahman Alyaser, Consul General of Libya; Mohamed El Zourk El Sharif, Vice President of the Arab Muay Thai Federation and President of the Libyan Federation; Federation Board Members Tariq Al Muhairi and Ali Khouri; Saeed Al Muhairi from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council; and Jamshidbek Bekm
urodov, Secretary General of the Uzbekistan Muay Thai Federation.
In terms of medal counts, Abu Dhabi Muay Thai led with 13 medals (7 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze), followed by UAM with 10 medals (7 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze), and Colosseum Muay Thai with 13 medals (5 gold, 6 silver, 2 bronze).
Abdulla Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations and of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, said: ‘The success of the UAE Muay Thai Open Championship brings immense pride.
