UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Clinches Nine Medals at 2024 World Jiu-Jitsu Cup in Greece.


Heraklion: The UAE Jiu-Jitsu U-14 National Team, supported by Mubadala Investment Company, achieved notable success at the 2024 World Cup – U14, which concluded in Heraklion, Greece. The team secured a total of nine medals while competing against participants from 27 countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, the team’s medal tally included three gold, three silver, and three bronze, highlighting the effectiveness of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation’s development strategies. Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, a Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized the strong foundation laid for jiu-jitsu’s future in the UAE, attributing this success to the athletes’ skills, discipline, and resilience.

Khalfan Al Qubaisi, a gold medalist in the 52kg category, expressed his pride in winning a medal and representing the UAE. He noted the intense competition and challenges faced during the matches, which have fueled his determination to continue training and achieve further success.

omplishments extend beyond the U-14 category. The adult team retained their title at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship for the fifth consecutive year, with a medal haul of nine, including three gold, three silver, and four bronze. Additionally, the UAE won a gold medal in the para jiu-jitsu category.

The UAE’s youth teams also excelled in the U-16, U-18, and U-21 categories at the Jiu-Jitsu World Youth Championship, earning a total of 42 medals. This success underscores the UAE’s rich talent pool and the Federation’s commitment to nurturing future jiu-jitsu stars.
