Two UNIFIL soldiers injured in Zionist shelling in southern Lebanon

The United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon/UNIFIL/ announced that its headquarters and nearby sites in southern Lebanon were subjected to repeated Zionist shelling, amid the recent escalation along the Blue Line.

UNIFIL added in a statement on Thursday that two of its soldiers were injured by Israeli tank fire.

It revealed that its headquarters in Naqoura, southern Lebanon, and neighboring sites were repeatedly shelled, and said, “The recent escalation along the Blue Line has caused widespread destruction of cities and villages in southern Lebanon, and in the past few days we have witnessed incursions from the Zionist entity into Lebanon in Naqoura and other areas.”

Two peacekeepers were injured this morning after a Merkava tank belonging to the Israeli occupation army fired at a watchtower at the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura. The occupation army also fired at the UN site in Ras al-Naqoura, hitting the entrance to the bunker where the peacekeepers were taking shelter, and damaging the vehicles and
communications system. An Israeli drone was also seen flying inside the UN site up to the entrance to the bunker.
