Baghdad, The National Intelligence Service arrested two important targets in the remnants of the terrorist ISIS outside the borders.

The Security Media Cell stated in a statement: “In implementation of the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces to continue pursuing the remnants of the terrorist ISIS, the National Intelligence Service carried out a qualitative operation outside the Iraqi borders through which it overthrew both the terrorist Omar Awad Ibrahim Saleh, alias (Abu Maryam), and the terrorist Yasser Hassan Ibrahim Hatimi, nicknamed Abu Ammar, are among the device’s important targets.”

It explained: “The terrorist Abu Maryam belonged to ISIS terrorist gangs in the year 2014 and was appointed commander of the mortar detachment and participated in the fighting against the security forces during the liberation battles. Then he fled outside Iraq and moved between a number of countries until he was arrested in one of the friendly countries.”

It added: “The terrorist Abu Ammar joined the ranks of ISIS in the year 2014 and was appointed as commander of Al-Fatah Brigade, which was active in the so-called Southern Province. He participated in targeting the security forces and fought against them in the liberation battles. He participated in targeting Al-Musayyib district in Babylon Governorate with a car bomb that killed dozens of people.” Martyrs and wounded, and after the defeat of ISIS in 2017, he fled outside Iraq until he was arrested in one of the friendly countries.”

It pointed out: “The operation was carried out based on careful intelligence follow-up and tracking in a number of countries where the two terrorists moved, where they were arrested and transferred to Iraq and duly handed over to the competent judicial authorities to receive their just punishment.”
