Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the arrest of 167 suspected members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and ISIS terrorist organizations as part of broad security operations that included 26 Turkish provinces.
He said on social media platforms on Friday that police and anti-terrorism forces carried out Operation “Heroes” and included 11 Turkish provinces, and that the operation aimed to arrest members of the terrorist organization PKK/Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and resulted in the arrest of 75 suspects.
He added: Other security forces carried out a “pincer” operation that included 26 states in conjunction with the first operation and aimed to arrest members of the terrorist organization ISIS, where 92 suspects of belonging to the terrorist organization were arrested.
