Turkey MoD Announces The Killing Of 1,062 Militants Opposing It Since The Beginning Of This Year

The Public Relations and Media Adviser at the Turkish Ministry of Defense, Zaki Akturk, announced that his country’s forces managed to kill 1062 militants, most of them affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, since the beginning of this year 2023.

Akturk said in a media briefing today that the armed forces have managed to kill 1062 terrorists since the beginning of the year, including 67 in the past seven days, inside the country and northern Syria and Iraq, stressing the continuation of large-scale operations in the area of operations Claw Lock in northern Iraq.

With regard to border security, Akturk said that the Border Guard forces arrested 179 people, 13 of them members of terrorist organizations, while trying to cross the country’s borders illegally in the past seven days.

He added that his country’s forces also prevented 3,076 people from crossing the border illegally during the past seven days.

He indicated that the number of people who were arrested during their attempt to enter Turkish territory illegally during the current year amounted to 4931, including 369 belonging to terrorist organizations, indicating that the number of people who were prevented before crossing the Turkish border amounted to 138 thousand and 11 people.
