Tourism minister meets Jordan inbound tour operators association members

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Qaisi on Tuesday met with members of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), urging operators and workers in the tourism sector to prepare for the increasing demand in the upcoming tourism season.

During the meeting, Qaisi stressed the ministry’s tireless endeavor to provide top-grade services to visitors to Jordan, indicating the importance of cooperation and partnership among operators and workers in the tourism sector to accommodate the increase in the number of tourists during the upcoming period.

The minister highlighted the government’s efforts overcome the challenges facing the sector, pointing to a Cabinet decision related to exemptions granted to specialized tourist transport companies.

He said that the ministry, in cooperation with the Jordan Tour Guides Association, recently held three courses for tourist guides and will continue to hold them to meet the needs of the market and to up the number of guides to meet the increasing number of tourists.

For her part, President of the JITOA Ghada Najjar stressed the importance of cooperation between the ministry, the association and other stakeholders to find solutions to the obstacles facing the inbound tourism sector, indicating that the association’s vision aims to support the tourism sector in the Kingdom.
