The Turkish army announced the killing of 7 PKK militants and the seizure of quantities of weapons and ammunition in northern Iraq and Syria.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated in a statement today, Tuesday, that one of the Turkish army units in the Hakurk region in northern Iraq was exposed to fire from PKK militants, and after an exchange of fire, three of the organization’s militants were killed, While the rest of the armed group fled.

It indicated that the Turkish forces also seized a quantity of weapons and ammunition in a hideout in northern Iraq, including automatic rifles, an anti-tank rocket launcher, and rocket-propelled grenades belonging to PKK militants.

The Turkish Defense Ministry explained in its statement that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is based in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, and is active in many cities, regions and valleys, launching attacks on Turkish territory from there.
