Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry heads to Slovenia Sunday 11/02/2024, leading the Egyptian delegation to the second round of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Economic Cooperation between Egypt and Slovenia at the level of foreign ministers.

The Egyptian foreign minister is scheduled to hold discussions with senior Slovenian officials on ways of enhancing bilateral relations between Egypt and Slovenia, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

Shoukry will also hold consultations with his Slovenian counterpart Tanja Vajon on a number of regional and international files of common interest, most notably the Palestinian issue as Slovenia adopts a clear stand in support of the Palestinian issue since the beginning of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, he added.

During the visit, the Egyptian foreign minister will also meet with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar, Prime Minister Robert Golob and Slovenian minister of economy and tourism, as part of coordination on ways to enhance Egyptian-Slovenian cooperat

Shoukry’s visit to Slovenia comes within the framework of the momentum leap that bilateral relations have witnessed in recent years, especially following the Slovenian president’s visit to Egypt in December 2016, as it represented an important milestone in terms of further strengthening cooperation relations between the two sides, he said.
