The Public Prosecutor orders the imprisonment of the Libyan ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg on charges of financial and administrative corruption

The Public Prosecution ordered, on Tuesday, the precautionary detention of the Libyan ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg, Amal Al-Jarari, pending investigation into financial and administrative corruption cases.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office explained in a statement that Al-Jarari faces charges of abusing administrative and financial work and achieving illegal material benefits. Unlawfully seizing public funds and causing harm to the public interest.

The office said that with the investigator finished interrogating and accusing the official; He ordered her to be detained pending investigation. He went on to investigate the rest of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
