The President of the Republic stresses the importance of coming up with recommendations adopted by Iraq at the climate conference to be held in the UAE

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of coming up with recommendations adopted by Iraq at the Climate Conference (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates at the end of this year.

The media office of the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement, “The President of the Republic received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the delegation of the Preparatory Commission for the Third International Conference (Iraq and Climate Change… Implications for Security and Development).”

Rashid stressed, “The need to implement the decisions that come out of the conferences in an effective manner, pointing to the importance of coming up with recommendations adopted by Iraq at the Climate Conference (COP28) in the United Arab Emirates at the end of this year.”

The President of the Republic referred to the importance of the participation of specialized personalities and inviting well-known international centers to contribute to the work of the conference and those who have a long experience in the fields of climate, environment and water.

For their part, the members of the delegation emphasized that Iraq is among the countries most at risk of climate change, noting that the conference is an initiative to ward off the risks arising from climate change.
