The President of the Republic meets the Sudanese Ambassador and affirms Iraq’s readiness to provide support in order to consolidate the foundations of peace

The President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Iraq, Abdul Rahim Sir Al-Khatim Abdul Rahman.

During the meeting, the President expressed his concern about the situation in Sudan, pointing out that the people of Sudan deserve an elected and strong government that works for security and stability, providing services and achieving their legitimate aspirations.

The President of the Republic expressed his hope for an end to the fighting in Sudan and a solution to problems through peaceful means and dialogue between political parties in a way that enhances security and preserves civil peace.

He also indicated Iraq’s readiness to provide support in order to consolidate the foundations of peace, pointing to the importance of taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Iraqi citizens residing in Sudan, and to facilitate their evacuation and return to Iraq safely.

For his part, the Ambassador gave a full explanation to the President about the situation and developments taking place in the Republic of Sudan.
