The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, confirmed that Iraq is facing a severe water crisis.
During his meeting with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the President indicated that security and stability are an essential pillar for promoting sustainable development.
He explained that the Iraqi government attaches great importance to establishing security and stability, as it is considered a basic pillar and a starting point towards achieving the goals of the Food and Agriculture Organization program in promoting sustainable development in the country.
He stressed Iraq’s keenness to maintain and continuously revitalize international relations.
He expressed his hope to expand cooperation between Iraq and the FAO to develop plans and joint coordination to confront the challenges of climate change.
