The President of the Republic discusses with the Minister of Higher Education the developments that the education sector witnessed


The President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Wednesday, at the Baghdad Palace, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.



A presidential statement stated that, during the meeting, the developments witnessed by the education sector were discussed, as the President of the Republic stressed the importance of keeping pace with international universities by expanding the horizons of cooperation and joint coordination and benefiting from scientific expertise and experiences.



The President stressed the need to pay attention to the curricula in universities and develop them in a manner that suits scientific, technological and technical progress in all fields, and to encourage research and studies by students, in addition to the importance of developing appropriate plans between the Ministries of Higher Education and Planning to accommodate the number of graduates from students and find a balance between the levels of admission to colleges and the annual required needs.



In the context of developing the skills of graduate students, especially graduates of engineering colleges, the President stressed the need to focus on the applied and practical aspect in their areas of specialization, in a way that enhances their capabilities and potential to implement projects in all sectors.



For his part, the Minister expressed his thanks for the President’s directives, reviewing the Ministry’s workflow, its future plans, and the challenges facing the education sector in the country.
