President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid strongly condemned the aggression against the brotherly Lebanese people, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of citizens, noting that it is a development that portends serious consequences for the region as a whole.
Rashid said in a statement that “while we affirm Iraq’s support for its brothers in Palestine and Lebanon, we renew our firm and steadfast position in rejecting the aggressive acts and the necessity of stopping them as soon as possible. We also renew our demand for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities in stopping the war on the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
He called for the necessity of taking an international position to stop the aggressive acts, as they will lead to the region slipping into dangerous scenarios that serve no one, and to prevent escalation and the extension of the war to Lebanon or any other region. We stress
the necessity of urgent relief for those affected by the aggressive acts.
