The number of journalists killed in Gaza has risen to 171 since the start of the aggression on October 7

The number of martyred Palestinian journalists working in the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, has risen to 171 journalists after the martyrdom of journalist Ali Nayef Ta’ima.

The government media office in Gaza said in a statement on Telegram last night: “The number of martyred journalists has risen to 171 journalists, male and female, since the beginning of the war of extermination on the Gaza Strip, after the martyrdom of colleague journalist Ali Nayef Ta’ima.”

The office explained that Ta’ima worked as a journalist with several media outlets, and expressed his condemnation “in the strongest terms of the targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation,” and held it “fully responsible for committing this heinous crime.”

It also called on “the international community and international organizations related to journalistic work to deter the occupation and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes and pressure it to stop the
crime of genocide, and stop the crime of killing and assassinating Palestinian journalists.”

Palestinian and international institutions are constantly warning against the Israeli army targeting press crews in the Gaza Strip, but Tel Aviv has continued to target them despite them wearing press vests and helmets, defying international warnings.

With American support, Israel is waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left more than 133,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
