The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemns in the strongest terms the condemnation of an extremist who burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Libyan embassy in Denmark.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemned in the strongest terms its condemnation and categorical rejection of the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in front of the Embassy of the State of Libya to the Kingdom of Denmark.

In a statement issued today, Friday, the ministry held the Danish authorities politically responsible for harming relations between the two countries and allowing the Libyan people and all Muslims around the world to be provoked by continuing to ignore the hate crimes and incitement carried out by terrorist extremists with the aim of insulting the Islamic religion and Muslims.

The ministry confirmed that the State of Libya cannot accept allegations that this cowardly act is among the tools for expressing opinion.

The statement warned against allowing once again hostile and provocative activities against the feelings and sanctities of Muslims around the world in front of the Libyan embassy in Copenhagen.

And the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the repetition of allowing these crimes will prompt us to reconsider the feasibility of continuing diplomatic relations and cooperation between Libya and Denmark.
