The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, affirmed today, Sunday, the ministry’s desire to continue cooperation with NATO in the field of training and consultation.
A statement by the Ministry of Interior stated that “Al-Shammari met, today, Sunday, the new NATO mission commander in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio, congratulated him on his assumption of his new duties, wishing him success.”
The minister affirmed that the Ministry of Interior has a desire to continue coordination and joint cooperation with NATO, especially in the field of training and consultation for the Federal Police and developing its capabilities, indicating that the Ministry of Interior is working to increase confidence between the policeman and the citizen and to deal in accordance with human rights standards.
For his part, the NATO commander expressed his thanks and appreciation to the minister for his great interest in developing relations with the alliance.
