The Minister of Finance Participates in the Eighth Public Finance Forum and the World Government Summit in Dubai


Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, will participate today, Sunday 11/02/2024, in the Eighth Public Finance Forum in the Arab Countries, and tomorrow, Monday 12/02/2024, in the World Government Summit in Dubai.

He is scheduled to hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts participating in these events, within the framework of his keenness to deepen means of cooperation, exchanging visions and viewpoints on issues and priorities of common interest, including:

Discussing global economic variables related with geopolitical tensions and the resulting pressure on the budgets of various countries, whether in providing citizens’ basic needs for food and fuel, which were affected by an unprecedented inflationary wave, or in the high cost of financing in international markets.

During his participation in these events and bilateral meetings, the Minister reviews the efforts of the Egyptian state in creating a favorable environment for local and foreign investment by working to accelerate the pace
of implementing structural reforms, in a way that contributes to making more room for the private sector. This helps increase its contributions to economic activity and enhance investment flows.

During the climate finance session at the World Government Summit, the Minister reviews Egyptian efforts in the field of adapting to climate change and targeting transformation into a regional center for green hydrogen production, pointing to the unprecedented Egyptian incentives that are most supportive of clean investment activities and most encouraging to support the state’s efforts in transitioning to a green economy.
