Shimura expressed his hope that Japan’s support through the International Organization for Migration would not only contribute to assisting recovery efforts, but would also lead to strengthening resistance against natural disasters in Libya.
The ambassador added that great credit for this goes to the excellent partnership and cooperation between the International Organization for Migration – Libya and Japan.
He pointed out that with this contribution, Japan has provided emergency humanitarian aid related to the
typhoon victims amounting to 2.63 million US dollars, including the Japan Emergency Grant of 2 million US dollars, which was provided in early October 2023.
