The Foreign Ministers of Iraq and Jordan discuss efforts to stop the aggression on Gaza


Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein discussed the efforts made to stop the aggression on Gaza, reduce escalation in the region, and the steps taken by the two brotherly countries to enhance cooperation and develop relations in various fields.

The two Ministers stressed, during a phone call today, Thursday, according to the Jordanian News Agency “Petra”, that stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza, and all Israeli violations of international law and its escalatory measures, constitute the basis for stopping the dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.

The two Ministers also stressed the need for the international community and its institutions to assume their responsibilities and take practical steps and firm positions to oblige Israel to end the aggression on Gaza, and respect international law and international humanitarian law.

The two Mini
sters warned of the serious consequences of Israel’s continued illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, including East Al-Quds, the construction and expansion of settlements, the confiscation of Palestinian lands, and attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, in addition to settler terrorism. Safadi and Hussein stressed their keenness to strengthen fraternal relations and develop bilateral cooperation, within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism with the Arab Republic of Egypt.
