The Electoral Commission reveals to /NINA/ the number of political alliances after the end of the registration period

The Independent High Electoral Commission revealed the number of political alliances participating in the upcoming local elections, after the end of the registration period.

The Commission Spokeswoman, Jumana Al-Ghalali, said in a special statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that after the registration of political alliances participating in the upcoming local elections closed yesterday, 33 new alliances were registered, while the old alliances whose data has been updated reached 17, bringing the total of 50 alliances that will participate in the next local elections.

Al-Ghalali explained that the number of parties officially approved by the Commission is 296, while there are 63 parties under establishment.

She indicated that the party registration process is currently open, and she must complete the registration procedures and receive the establishment licenses 5 days before the end of the period for receiving the lists of candidates, which will be announced later.
