Takala discusses with the French ambassador Batili’s plan to resolve the Libyan crisis and national reconciliation efforts.


Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today, Wednesday, with the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Maharaj, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli.

According to the Council’s Media Office, the two sides discussed the plan of the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, to resolve the Libyan crisis to achieve consensus between the political parties in a way that supports the democratic path in Libya, in addition to discussing ways to make comprehensive national reconciliation efforts successful, based on constitutional foundations agreed upon by all and starting from the political agreements that was sponsored by the international community.

During the meeting, Takala stressed the Council’s interest in supporting bilateral relations between Libya and France and joint cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the French ambassador expressed his country’s support for the democratic process in Libya and achieving a national consensus that establishes real foundations for com
prehensive reconciliation through peaceful dialogue, according to the media office.
