The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, reiterated his country’s full support for holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya facilitated by the UN.
The Italian news agency “Aki” quoted Tajani as saying during a meeting with the Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dabaiba, on Thursday in Rome that the electoral entitlements are an essential stage in the process of achieving stability in Libya.
Tajani stressed the need to work together to ensure the unity of Libyan institutions and territories, which represent an indispensable pillar for the stability of the Mediterranean region.
Tajani called for cooperation and worked together with Libya in the area of immigration, combating human trafficking, and stopping illegal departures.
