Our thoughts are with the people of Turkey and Syria who have been impacted by the devastating earthquakes in that region.
As a mark of respect, and to remember those who have lost their lives in this tragedy, we will encourage all clubs taking part in matches across the Barclays Women’s Super League, the Barclays Women’s Championship, the Isuzu FA Trophy and the Isuzu FA Vase to observe a minute’s silence before they kick off this weekend, and to wear black armbands where possible.
The FA, alongside other European football federations, will also be contributing to a joint disaster relief fund to support those affected by the terrible events in Turkey and Syria. This joint relief fund is being coordinated by UEFA.
DEC charities including Age International, British Red Cross, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Plan UK, Save the Children UK and World Vision UK and their local partners are among the first responders, working with locally-led relief efforts to provide medical treatment for the injured, shelter for those who have lost their homes and ensuring people have access to food and clean water.
