Starting the reconstruction and rehabilitation of more than 300 destroyed schools throughout Nineveh

The local government in Nineveh announced its commencement of implementing the national campaign to rehabilitate schools throughout the districts and sub-districts of the governorate, in implementation of the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to rehabilitate schools.

Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil told the Iraqi National News Agency (NINA) that “the local government, in cooperation with service departments and contractors in Nineveh, has begun the process of renovating more than 300 schools throughout the province.”

Al-Dakhil added that “our start came after the Prime Minister’s directive to launch a voluntary campaign to rehabilitate schools throughout Iraq, specifically Nineveh, where a large number of schools were closed after the destruction they suffered, as Mosul witnesses a large number of caravan schools that helped continue the double shift between schools, noting that “Nineveh seeks to rebuild all schools and renovate them with the start of the next school year.”

Al-Dakhil expl
ained that “Nineveh Governorate had recently completed the completion of a number of schools after identifying the lands for these schools in the eastern, southern, western and northern axis as well, and equipped these schools with the latest logistical materials to start the current school year with the provision of teaching staff.”
