The Popular Mobilization Forces launched specific strikes against ISIS sleeper cells within the Khanaqin countryside in Diyala Governorate.
A source in the PMF media told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that areas within the Khanaqin countryside sector northeast of Baqubah did not witness any security violations during the past months, after the security stability witnessed in the region as a result of the specific strikes by the PMF against ISIS sleeper cells.
He added that the Popular Mobilization Forces plays an important security role in enhancing the stability of the region after relying on a strategy and information base that contributed to preventing any terrorist activities. In addition, no cases of forced displacement were recorded during the current year.
