MADRID, The two-state solution is the only viable way to bring peace to the Middle East, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy agreed during talks on Monday.
After clinching a bilateral security agreement, the Spanish prime minister expressed Madrid’s support for an independent Palestinian state, a belief shared by Ukraine as well, he told a joint press conference alongside Zelenskyy.
Ireland, Spain and Norway last week publicly declared that they would recognize an independent Palestinian state on May 28, an event Madrid has described as a “historic day.”
