The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received today, Sunday, the Minister of Agriculture in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Khaled Al-Hanifat.
During the meeting, according to a statement by the regional government, ways to enhance coordination and joint cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture, food industries and marketing of agricultural crops were discussed.
The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to the Prime Minister, noting the depth of relations and strong ties between the Kurdistan Region and Jordan, and praised the remarkable growth and prosperity in the city of Erbil and the Kurdistan Region in general.
The Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for the continuous support and assistance provided by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King, government and people, to the Kurdistan Region at various stages, and also stressed the readiness of the regional government to continue strengthening bilateral re
lations between the two sides.
Under the supervision and patronage of the Prime Minister, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministries of Agriculture of the Kurdistan Region and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the field of developing coordination and cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, which includes Jordan’s import of potatoes as a first step.
