Shoukry affirms keenness of Arab committee on Syria on completing its assigned tasks

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted the keenness of the Arab ministerial liaison committee on Syria on completing its tasks to help settle the long-standing Syrian crisis and assist the Syrian people to overcome their ordeal asserted the keenness of the Arab ministerial liaison committee on Syria on completing its tasks to help settle the long-standing Syrian crisis and assist the Syrian people to overcome their ordeal.

This came during Shoukry’s meeting with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad, who is currently visiting here to take part in the Arab ministerial liaison committee on Syria.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the meeting covered all sides relevant to the work of the Arab committee, which complies with the role of the Arab League and Arab member states to enhance the joint Arab action and join hands to reach a settlement for the Syrian crisis with all its political, social and economic dimensions.

During the meeting, Shoukry voiced hope that the committee’s work would achieve its aspired for targets, added the spokesman.

Shoukry was briefed by Mekdad on the latest developments in Syria at the various fronts and the efforts exerted by the Syrian government to work out a solution to the crisis including the return of refugees, terrorism and drugs combat, in addition to security cooperation with Syria’ neighbors and Syria’s imposing its sovereignty over its territories.
