The head of the Audit Bureau discussed at the Bureau’s headquarters in Tripoli, with the agency’s representative, John Cardenas, and the official of economic relations at the US Embassy, Marina Galanica, the repercussions of the collapse of the Wadi Derna and Abu Mansour dams and the procedures for monitoring any international grants or contributions that would contribute to the reconstruction of the affected areas and ensuring that they are not disposed of in ways other than those intended for them.
During the meeting, the activation of the partnership agreement between the Bureau and the US Agency for Development in October 2021 was followed by capacity building and preparing methodologies for implementing typical oversight tasks, including financial oversight associated with crises and disasters.
