Serbian Mufti hails Egypt’s role in supporting Islamic causes

Sheikh Mustafa Spahic, the Mufti of Belgrade, has hailed efforts exerted by Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to support the Islamic world’s causes.

In statements to MENA Monday, the Serbian Mufti described Egypt as the beacon of Islam due to the presence of Al Azhar, the most prestigious Sunni institution in the world, on the country’s lands.

He said the 34th international conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), that kicked off on Saturday was a chance to discuss important issues related to the Islamic world.

The conference, themed “cyberspace and modern means of religious discourse”, aims to focus on issues related to the rational use of cyberspace and artificial intelligence and the unconventional ways of developing the religious discourse, among others.
