Saqqaf, Khan talk investment cooperation

Minister of Investment, Kholoud Saqqaf, on Sunday discussed with Canadian Ambassador to Amman, Tarik Ali Khan, and the accompanying delegation, opportunities for future joint cooperation in the investment field. Khan and the delegation were briefed on the Kingdom’s “key” projects and “promising” investment opportunities, primarily partnership projects between Jordan’s public and private sectors and the crucial investor privileges approved by the newly-issued Investment Environment Law, according to a Ministry of Investment statement. Khan and the delegates also learned about “invest.jo” platform as the first investor-based interactive promotional e-platform in the Kingdom in both Arabic and English languages, aimed to facilitating contact with investors locally and globally, and enabling them to get acquainted with the Kingdom’s business environment. Canadian government, in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), is a major supporter of partnership projects between Jordan’s public and private sectors, by financing their feasibility studies.
