River Rescue Police found the body of the man and his daughter who drowned yesterday evening, Wednesday, in a lake in the Zummar district, northwest of Mosul.
A source in the river rescue said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that “the river rescue squads found the body of the man and his daughter who drowned in the lake while they were on a family outing in the village of Al-Sumoud, affiliated with the Zummar district, west of Mosul.”
The source explained that “the daughter is 12 years old and drowned first before her father joined her while trying to save her.”
