ABU DHABI: The Organising Committee of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Agricultural Excellence Award has announced the conclusion of registration for its third edition, drawing significant attention from the agricultural community.
According to Emirates News Agency, the award is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA). It has established itself as a prominent benchmark for quality and innovation in the national agricultural sector. This edition has seen an impressive 451 submissions, reflecting the keen interest of farmers and livestock breeders in showcasing the quality of their products.
The award, structured into four main categories with 13 subcategories, offers cash prizes totaling AED5.3 million. It aims to stimulate the agricultural sector by encouraging distinguished farmers who pay special attention to their farms. Additionally, it highlights ADAFSA’s efforts in developing and sustaining the sector, thereby strengthening the food security system in the United Arab Emirates.
The award also seeks to promote agricultural sustainability and biosecurity on UAE farms. It rewards distinguished productive families, farmers, and livestock breeders, ensuring the sector’s sustainability. By motivating participants to adopt best practices and modern agricultural systems, the award fosters a spirit of positive competition that supports food security.
