RAK Ruler holds high-level talks with Shenzhen leaders

H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has held high-level discussions with the leaders of Shenzhen Municipal Government to gain insight into the city’s development experience and explore bilateral trade and investment opportunities between Ras Al Khaimah and the city.

The meeting focused on ways to enhance cooperation across several sectors and follows the signing of a cooperation agreement the previous day between Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and the Longhua District of Shenzhen.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Saud invited Shenzhen government officials and business leaders to visit Ras Al Khaimah to strengthen mutual understanding and promote further collaboration.

H.H. Sheikh Saud said, “Our vision is of a future that embraces technological advancement, empowers our people and engages nations of the world to achieve development that is both sustained and sustainable. Through further collaboration between Ras Al Khaimah and China, I believe that
we can forge a new investment landscape, with growth that is inclusive, sustainable and, as far as possible, universal.”

Shenzhen, a city of about 17.5 million people and the third most populous city in China after Shanghai and Beijing, was the first of China’s Special Economic Zones and has a GDP of about US$456 billion, surpassing neighbouring Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
