Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani congratulated our national team on its victory over Palestine, stressing that the continuation of the Palestinian team’s competition in this stage of the qualifiers is a message of courageous defiance to the occupying entity.
Al-Sudani said in a tweet on the X website: Greetings to the brotherly Palestinian team that was present in Iraq and played its match with our national team, within the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, in Basra.
He added that the continuation of the Palestinian football team’s competition in this stage of the qualifiers is a message of courageous defiance to the occupying entity, which continues to commit its crimes against our people in Gaza and the occupied territories, and is evidence of the victory of the will to live over the methodology of killing and destruction. We also congratulate our team on the victory, and the Palestinian team on its distinguished performance.
