Police Academy hosts 2 training courses on int’l humanitarian law, ICRC role in conflict zones

The Police Academy hosted two training courses on “international humanitarian law and the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in conflict zones”.

Held in cooperation with ICRC as part of the constant cooperation between the academy and the global humanitarian organization, the courses were sought to provide necessary training to police cadres nominated for deployment with peacekeeping missions.

The course featured a number of specialized lectures on international law, the role of the ICRC in applying it in conflict zones, and the principles governing the use of force in armed conflicts.

A group of top ICRC experts have been engaged in implementing the training program, in collaboration with the Egyptian Peacekeeping Operations Training Center.
