PM’s advisor: Al-Sudani’s visit to Washington redrew relations with US based on Iraqi constants

Advisor to the Prime Minister for Tribal Affairs for the liberated governorates, Anwar Al-Nada Al-Lahibi, confirmed that the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to the United States of America has rearranged bilateral relations between the two countries on clear foundations of common interests and balanced relations.

Al-Lahibi said in a statement, ‘Al-Sudani succeeded in conveying the true picture of Iraq at the present time, when he listened to American viewpoints from the government, legislators, American companies, researchers, and research centers related to politics, economics, and national security, which will move cooperation to a different level than it was in the past through the Strategic Framework Agreement, and this calls for the patience of partners in supporting the Iraqi government’s policy for the roadmap drawn up by the visit in light of the Strategic Framework Agreement and the Supreme Coordination Committee.’

He added, “The meetings that al-Sudani held with American decision-
makers identified clear features of the new strategic partnership, requiring the leaders of the political blocs, especially in the State Administration Coalition, to support it in a sustainable manner and support it in managing the country’s interests, especially after the important statement issued by the coalition regarding clear support for the visit, considering the interests of the people and sovereignty are governed by an international system that considers conflict and force to be exceptions and not constants or principles.’

Al-Lahibi considered that ‘the Prime Minister’s follow-up of the situation of the Iraqi community in the United States of America is evidence of his national project to overcome the negatives and cross the criss-crossing trenches in the nature of the relationship between the ruler and the people, which requires parallel internal support from the Iraqi parliament in approving all laws that affect the lagging rights of Iraqis in the liberated areas and the rest of the governorates
