PM, Saudi environment minister talk cooperation

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Thursday received Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman Al-Fadli. The meeting, attended by Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat and Saudi Ambassador in Amman Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, discussed ways to enhance cooperation in agriculture, environment, water, prospects for integration, trade, and knowledge sharing, and issues of food and water security at the bilateral and regional levels. The ministers also affirmed the strength of Jordanian-Saudi relations, which enjoy the care and attention of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, as well as Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Khasawneh said Jordan and its people are eager to enhance their relations with Saudi Arabia in a manner that aligns with their shared interests and aspirations, as well as the concerns of the Arab and Islamic communities. The premier highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II’s progressive perspective on regional and global food security, promoting collaborative efforts among nations and leveraging their unique strengths in this area, especially given the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. For his part, Al-Fadli affirmed the existence of many prospects for cooperation with Jordan in agriculture, environment, and water, as well as the firm and joint dedication to advancing ties to serve both nations’ common interests.
