PM receives the Dutch ambassador to Iraq on the occasion of the end of his tenure

Baghdad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani received, today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iraq, Johannes Sande, on the occasion of the end of his tenure.

Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Dutch ambassador during his work in Iraq, wishing him success in his future duties, and for the relations between the two countries continued progress and development.

The meeting witnessed a discussion of bilateral relations and ways to consolidate partnership and constructive cooperation between the two countries, which was strengthened during the Prime Minister’s visit to the Netherlands last February, and the formation of the (Iraqi-Dutch Council) for comprehensive bilateral cooperation, from which several committees branched out in various vital fields and sectors.

The meeting discussed the work of Dutch companies in Iraq, and the government’s measures to secure appropriate investment environment for work, through several measures that aim to facilitate th
e work of companies in general. They also discussed activating the joint water council between the two countries, within the framework of the government’s plans towards developing the agricultural sector and managing water resources to face the challenges of water scarcity that Iraq and the countries of the region suffer from.
