PM holds inaugural meeting of ministerial group for industrial development


Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, presided over the first meeting of the ministerial group dedicated to industrial development, with the esteemed presence of Deputy Prime Minister Kamel El-Wazir, responsible for industrial development, as well as Minister of Industry and Transport.

During the meeting, Madbouly reiterated the utmost significance accorded to the industrial sector, echoing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s emphatic declaration that industrialization stands as one of the nation’s paramount priorities.

The government’s complete dedication to supporting the ministerial group responsible for industrial development was emphasized, spanning all facets from licensing to operational execution.

In his capacity as the head of the ministerial group, Madbouly entrusted the members with the crucial task of closely monitoring recently approved industrial projects. This includes overseeing the implementation process and ensuring swift and efficient operationalization.

d on the forthcoming work mechanisms of the group. Their responsibilities encompass the execution of the national industrial development strategy, as well as the facilitation and promotion of direct private investment in the industrial sector.

Additionally, El-Wazir provided a comprehensive overview of the current status of industrial lands throughout the country.

The report encompassed a total of 66 areas under the New Urban Communities Authority, 31 areas under governorates, 17 areas under the General Authority for Industrial Development, 14 areas under the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, 11 areas under the Ministry of Industry, along with four areas under the General Authority for the Economic Zone, and two areas under the National Investment Bank.
