PM hails fruitful cooperation between electricity ministry, ACWA Power Saudi company

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli hailed the fruitful cooperation between the Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry and ACWA Power Saudi company in several spheres, especially a 10 gigawatt wind power project.

Madbouli also referred to the cooperation between the two sides in providing electricity to around 11 million housing units along with providing thousands of jobs.

Madbouli’s remarks came during his meeting Monday with ACWA Power CEO Marco Arcelli, on the sidelines of the signing of a document on land allocation for initiating studies on the development of a mega wind power plant in western Sohag, in Upper Egypt, with a capacity of 10 gigawatts.

Talks between the two sides covered cooperation in water desalination projects.

ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production plants currently with presence in 10 countries including in the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa and South East Asia regions.
